Cure for Pancakes

Hello.

I’m Mel, a gay Gen Xer, unapologetic liberal, devoted dog-and-cat person and serial renovator who has been tearing into houses since 2005. At Cure for Pancakes, I write about home projects, progressive politics, women’s issues, art, life, absurdities and whatever else manages to lodge itself in my brain. The name comes from a headline in The Onion, has nothing to do with breakfast and has amused me for years. I consider that sufficient justification. And yes, that’s an actual photo of me holding a beer at age 5. Doesn’t every GenXer have one?
