McGavock Pike: 2015

One day in the fall of 2015, we went to look at this property on an impulse. It was built in 1956 and retained many (most) of the original details. The first owners resided here from 1956 until 2008. The second owners used the house as a summer home only, and lived here from 2008-2015, when they put it on the market. These are the photos from the real estate listing. I submit the interior photos without comment at this time.

Hello.

I’m Mel — Gen X, unapologetically liberal, married to my wife of over 25 years, and living in a red state with a house full of rescue animals. I’ve spent two decades renovating homes, and I write about that along with politics, art, and daily life at Cure for Pancakes — a name lifted from an Onion headline that has nothing to do with breakfast.
